4th of July Apron!

July 5, 2011

july 4th kids simple apron

When I went to Joann’s once, I saw this $3 plain beige kids apron and put it in my cart.  Then I, of course, promptly thought: “I can make that!”

So I took note of what it looked like and how it was constructed, and made one for R – out of her favorite: American Flag fabric.

She insisted on wearing it out to the playground, which of course made me happy…until I realized that we lost it.

So I’ll have to make another one and when I do, I’ll take pictures and put up a tutorial afterwards.  I can say this much – it was VERY simple, took about a 1/4-1/3 yard of fabric and some double folded bias tape.  That’s it.

Hope everyone had a GREAT 4th of July!

The apron is adorable, you could make them in all sizes
( As I responded earlier my garden of many pots was inspired by your garden photos…so the update is the tomatoes all varieties are forming many blossoms and some have fruit, the herbs are all wonderful, I have had 2 cucumbers, lettuce, the peppers are slow to do anything but I think they will be ok, the eggplants are not doing much at all….I’ve been adding coffee grounds etc as they accumulate as I think it adds nitrogen to the soil…. I’ve learned that the deeper and bigger the pot the better… I hope your garden continues to do well)
