The Daily Glimpse Project #7
This was taken in a random cafe in Roma, Italia, on our 45 minutes walk (with our suitcases) from the train station to our hotel (we later found out that we could have taken a 10 minute train pretty much door-to-door). The two cappuccinis (cappuccinI is the pleural for cappuccinO) we had there were UH-MAZING. Anyways, loved all these different little tin containers. If they didn’t cost so much I probably would have bought one of each!
The Daily Glimpse Project #6
first of all – i wanted to give a disclaimer…since i usually can’t take my picture, upload it and write my post before lat at night, i have decided to post each morning about my picture from the day before
so, although i’m late today (see my post from yesterday…very tired from work) i am excited about today’s picture. it is a shot that happened randomly when I was reading something on my phone. i almost deleted it, but then I realized that i really liked the colors and the streaking effect. I have done no post processing to this yet, although I have some ideas of some fun things I can do…so I’ll put up an update when i finish playing. but that likely won’t happen until I’m done with work – sometime middle of the week
have a great evening everyone!

The Daily Glimpse Project #4
I tried something new for my daily glimpse project: taking pictures from R’s level without looking through the lens.

R tends to avoid the camera like the plague…or like she used to avoid food (ha!)…so I figured this way I could 1] get a new angle and 2] get her to not look away from me!
Things I did to make this work:
1] Changed my focus points from center focused only to activating all focus points (gives a higher probability that he will be in focus)
2] Tried to get the fastest shutter speed I could to avoid blur – you can do this by stopping down the aperture (which I like to do anyways)
and
3] Let go! These pictures may not be exactly perfect or have the exact composition you would normally use, but that’s the point! Something different, something cool and something fun!
Here are a couple of other shots I had fun taking today =)
This is a random tree trunk section sitting in our yard
And this is a big ‘ol broccoli leaf

The Daily Glimpse Project #3
Here is a snapshot of our evening today. Well at least the fun part (I am sparing you all the next hour after this picture when I was cleaning the cat poop and pee off our nice sofa)…
This was a fun moment for R and her Nani, who bought her glitter markers today (washable!). R had so much fun opening each one, and making “raindrops” on the paper and then closing each marker. She was too cute =)

who knew?
I had no idea that broccoli is a collection of flower buds! well i learned this interesting fact when I failed to harvest my little broccoli heads (i thought they would get bigger!) and they started to flower! I couldn’t believe it! well good news is that I looked it up, and the flowers are edible. in fact the broccoli heads are sitting in a bowl on our kitchen counter, and almost every time I walk by it, I take a stalk and eat it raw. it is so yummy! i think i will add it to our salads tomorrow..
next step: harvest my flowering pak choi! it is all getting out of hand! …and it doesn’t help that I am working about 95 hours in 8 days… =(

The Daily Glimpse Project #2
as I mentioned over on my other blog, simple beauties, I am going to try to take a picture a day and post it. whether it is my daughter or nature…on my iphone or my 5D…doesn’t matter.
i decided to post them up here (although man, I wish I could combine my blogs instead of having 2 separate ones!)
so today’s pic: my little girl writing for the first time! i mean writing for real…writing the number “10” over and over! thanks to her grandmother who doesn’t think “oh, she’s too young to learn that” (like I often do!)
